Phnom Aural is the tallest peak in Cambodia. It is 1,813 meters tall. It locates in the eastern part of the Cardamom Mountains which spread in the border of three provinces in Cambodia; Kampong Speu, Kampong Chhnang and Porsat. This mountain in located in Aoral District, Kampong Speu Province. It is also
said to be one of the remote areas of the country in Aural district of
Kampong Speu
Province. The mountain is full of thick vegetation and immense flora
and fauna. The mountain is a habitat for animals like tiger, pilated gibbon, wild
cow, bush pig, etc. To protect the biodiversity of the mountains, Phnom Aural Wildlife Sanctuary was established. Hiking can be enjoyed here. This
place is definitely charming for nature lovers.
